Do you love Die Hard? Rick and Morty sure does. This week Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland’s sci-fi comedy is all about Summer doing a Die Hard. The only problem with that is she’s never seen the movie. It’s the perfect formula for a very silly episode, and we have your guide for how you can watch.
Here’s everything you need to know about how to watch Rick and Morty Season 6 live. Whether you’re a cable devotee or cut that cord years ago, we have you covered.
Are you ready for Rick and Morty‘s very special ode to John McClane? You better be because it’s happening this weekend. “Rick: A Mort Well Lived” premieres on Adult Swim tonight, Sunday 11.
You’re going to have to push you bedtime back an hour or so for this one. The second episode in Rick and Morty Season 6 premieres on Adult Swim this Sunday, September 11, at 11/10c p.m.
Because Adult Swim is part of Cartoon Network, your best bet to watch this new episode live is cable. As long as you have your TV tuned to Cartoon Network around 11/10c p.m., you should be golden. But what if you’re going to be away from your TV? No worries. If you have a cable username and password, you can watch the latest episode of this new season from just about anywhere. Watch live using the Adult Swim app, which is available on iOS, Android, Roku, Fire TV, and Apple TV.
But what if you ended your relationship with cable years ago? Don’t even trip, dawg. Thanks to the world of live TV skinny bundles, you can still watch without worrying about spoilers. YouTube TVHulu + Live TV, DirectTV Stream, and Sling TV all come with Cartoon Network, which means they have Adult Swim.
If none of these options apply to you, there is one left. Adult Swim typically posts new episodes of Rick and Morty on its site for free. As of Friday, September 9, “Solaricks” was available to stream with ads. Once Adult Swim starts putting Season 6’s episodes under cable lock and key, you still have one more option thanks to the network’s free 24/7 Rick and Morty marathon. This one requires to time out your stream a bit more, but hey, when you don’t have cable, you have to get creative.
Yes, but not the season you want. The first five seasons of Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland’s series are currently available to stream on Hulu. But unless you have Hulu + Live TV, you won’t be able to watch this season on Hulu.
Don’t be fooled by the fact that Rick and Morty and HBO are owned by the same company; HBO Max and Hulu are playing by the same rules. Though the first five seasons are currently available to stream on HBO Max, it’s going to be several months before you can watch Season 6 on the service. It all comes down to licensing agreements. Typically, new seasons of cable shows enter a windowing period after their final episode airs. Because of that period, it takes a few months before new seasons are available on streaming services. The bottom line? Rick and Morty Season 6 is expected to come to Hulu and HBO Max, but it’s going to take awhile.
