Best Sandra Bullock Comedy Movies, Ranked – MovieWeb

From While You Were Sleeping to Miss Congeniality, these are the best Sandra Bullock comedy movies.
Born in Washington D.C, Sandra Bullock made her acting debut back in 1987 in the thriller Hangmen. Since then, her star only risen higher and higher, and has made incredible achievements as both an actor and producer. Indeed, Bullock was the world’s highest-paid actress of 2010 and 2014, and was named one of TIME’s 100 most influential people in the world in 2011. With movies like The Blind Side, Miss Congeniality, Speed, and, most recently, The Lost City, the actress has proven herself adept in multiple genres.
Perhaps the genre in which Bullock shines the most is comedy. From romantic comedies to action comedies, she is one of the funniest actors of her generation. In light of her recent decision to take a step back from films, we figured now is as great a time as any to take a look back at Sandra Bullock's best comedy movies, ranked.
Directed by Donald Petrie and produced by Bullock, Miss Congeniality is a comedy movie starring Bullock in the leading role as Gracie Hart. She plays a tomboy FBI agent who is forced to go undercover as a contestant when someone threatens to bomb the Miss United States Pageant. Despite its low ratings, the movie was a box office hit, and Bullock earned a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actress – Motion Picture Comedy or Musical. The movie criticizes beauty contestants, but it also focuses on women friendships and portrays the contestants as microbiologists who dedicated their lives to charity or something equally spectacular. The success of the first led to the sequel, Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous, which she has since regretted making (via PEOPLE).
